Named in Variety’s Artisans Elite Report for 2018 as an “Editor to Watch,” Katie is a NYC-based filmmaker and member of the Motion Picture Editor's Guild. Her work has screened in wide release, film festivals, prime-time television and major streaming outlets. Credits include DEXTER: NEW BLOOD, THE AMERICANS, CITY ON A HILL, SWEETBITTER, FOR LIFE, and the independent feature film SISTER AIMEE which premiered at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival.
In between editorial projects, Katie has pursued writing and directing. She is slated to make her feature-length directorial debut with OUR LAST SUMMER, written by longtime collaborator Gary Jaffe. OLS was selected for the 2021 Film Independent Fast Track, 2020 IFP Week Project Forum, The Inside Out Finance Forum and the Outfest Screenwriting Lab. Katie has directed four short films including LAST SUMMER WITH UNCLE IRA (a proof of concept), HAUNTED, JIM AND THE GENIE and SUNSET, which premiered at the 2017 Palm Springs International Shortfest, screened over 40 festivals worldwide and won the audience award for best LGBTQ short film at the Rhode Island International Film Festival. SUNSET was released on Youtube in 2020 and currently has over 230K views and climbing. Katie began her career in production, working as a set PA on movies such as Todd Hayne's MILDRED PIERCE and television shows including BOARDWALK EMPIRE, GOSSIP GIRL and ROYAL PAINS. Katie is from New Jersey and holds a BS in Film and Television Production from Boston University.
On the rare occasions when Katie is not working, she enjoys going on outdoor adventures with her husband and dog.
